TL;DR: Retool is transforming from a drag-and-drop CRUD builder into an AI-powered internal tools platform where engineering teams can ship production-grade apps from natural language—competing head-to-head with Zapier, Airtable, and Replit in the battle to own enterprise AI workflows. Sacra estimates Retool hit $120M ARR in October 2025, up from $90M at the end of 2024. For more, check out our full report and dataset.

Key points from our 2025 update via Sacra AI:

  • Retool’s biggest competitor—React, to build internal tools in house—became much more powerful with AI vibe coding IDEs and CLIs like Cursor, Claude Code and OpenAI’s Codex, which made it easy for engineers to spin up dashboards and admin panels in code, without having to point & click and learn a low code proprietary app builder.
  • Following Retool’s launch of AppGen (April 2025) and Agents (May 2025) layering on AI prompting credits and agent hours as units of monetization, Sacra estimates Retool hit $120M ARR in October 2025, up from $90M at the end of 2024, growing at 39% year-over-year.
  • Low code Retool, no code platforms Airtable & Zapier, vibe coding products like Replit and identity platforms like WorkOS are colliding on enterprise vibe coding, splitting on whether they’re for engineers building secure internal apps on live production data or for less-technical team members spinning up internal tools without engineering time on top of SaaS apps and CSV exports—with sticky, high ACV and high margin enterprise revenue as the prize.
