Sacra estimates that Cursor doubled its ARR from $100M to $200M in just three months, maintaining its hypergrowth with a 100% quarter-over-quarter growth rate and widening its lead over competitors like Bolt.new ($40M ARR), Vercel's v0 ($36M ARR), and Lovable ($17M ARR) to solidify its position as the dominant player in the AI-powered development ecosystem with approximately 720,000 paying users at an average revenue per user of $277.
By making Agent Mode the default interface, adding the ability to run multiple parallel agents, and layering in autonomous terminal access and web search, Cursor is accelerating its shift from an AI-augmented IDE to a semi-autonomous agentic environment—positioning itself at the center of the convergence between Copilot-style assistants and full-on coding agents as Devin shifts towards AI-native IDE territory.
While Cursor initially avoided enterprise sales, they’re now building out a team—after hiring their first salesperson in late 2024, they’re at 7 reps as of April 2025—as they look to go upmarket and compete there with Windsurf, which scaled its GTM team from 3 to 75 people between February 2024 and April 2025, as every AI-native IDE looks to shift revenue mix from individual developer subscriptions to yearly contracts.
