The pricing data behind Jarsy’s tokenized pre-IPO market

2026-08-11

Jarsy turns pre-IPO stock into tokens, each one backed 1:1 by a real share.

“We only mint a token if we can acquire a share,” says Yiying Hu, Jarsy's co-founder and COO. Starting from just a few dollars, retail investors can buy exposure to private names like Stripe and Anthropic that used to be reserved for institutions.

Jarsy launched out of stealth in June 2025 with a $5 million pre-seed led by Breyer Capital, joined by Karman Ventures and angel investors including the CEOs of Anchorage and Mysten Labs.

Yiying Hu runs the operations side of the business. Jarsy runs the market. Sacra supplies the information it prices against.

We talked to Yiying about how the Sacra API fits into that.

Inside Jarsy's tokenized pre-IPO market

When a user opens Jarsy, they're looking at the companies currently available to trade, priced by an automated market maker: the more people buy, the higher the price goes, and sell orders push it back down.

None

Every company has a profile page, and behind an optional info panel sits the context for the trade: the latest valuation, revenue, competitors, and news, powered by the Sacra API.

None

That context is what turns a browser into an investor. “When users don't even understand what a company's moat is, or what the business model is, they just won't invest,” says Yiying. “They need high conviction, which comes through actual objective data. They analyze it, they feel, okay, this private company has potential to be a blue chip, and then they make the decision to invest.”

Jarsy.com lists only the companies you can actually trade. Around it, two more surfaces run on the same Sacra data:

  • Pre-IPO Review. Jarsy's free education site covers every private company, not just the tradeable ones, with no call to action attached. "They just want to see it," says Yiying. The deeper Sacra data shows up here: company news, founder profiles, and investor backgrounds, wrapped in videos and plain-language explainers.
None
  • Jarsy's own content. “Sacra is kind of like a Bloomberg where we use it to do our own research and explain the data to other people,” she says. One of Jarsy's most popular posts, a deep dive on X into SpaceX's shareholder base, started from Sacra's data on the company's earliest rounds. “What you need to do is highlight the interesting thing and explain it to the mass audience.”

Sacra covers nearly all of that ground. “Basically everything that a pre-IPO company like us needs, they already provide it,” says Yiying.

Why the valuation anchor has to be right

“At the end of the day, it's an investment platform,” says Yiying, “and nothing is more important than accurate market data about the price.”

Pre-IPO data is hard to come by. “That information isn't available on Yahoo Finance, or on other news platforms, free to get everywhere,” she says. “There are certain rounds that are more private, there are company structure changes. It's not a lot of data, but it's a lot of details.”

Bad numbers cost Jarsy hurts user's trust on Jarsy. “A lot of users will ask, hey, where do you come up with this number?” says Yiying. Without a path from a valuation to a share price, they won't invest.

Before Sacra, Jarsy pulled from a generalist data platform: manually exporting records, then running them through processing and human review to get clean, fixed-format data. “It's not very scalable,” says Yiying. “They're comprehensive, because they include public companies and more. But they're not specialized in the pre-IPO stage that Sacra and we focus on.”

Other pre-IPO sources fill their gaps a different way, interpolating prices with machine learning estimates so the data looks continuous. Jarsy wanted the opposite. “We don't want guesses,” says Yiying. “We just want what already happened to be the source of truth. It might not be continuous, but it at least gives us a benchmark of the latest value of the company.”

Building on the Sacra API

Yiying's read on the integration: “a very easy experience, I would say the easiest.” When she first talked to Sacra co-founder Walter Chen, he opened with Sacra MCP, which let the team explore Sacra data inside ChatGPT and Claude before writing any integration code.

From there: “The API is very easy to use. Once you get an API key, the docs are clear, so we didn't find any issues integrating or refreshing the data.” A couple of times a small data issue surfaced, “they fixed it quite fast.”

Each part of the Sacra API has its own job at Jarsy:

  • Pricing and valuations set the anchor the whole market prices against. “Obviously pricing is the most important thing,” says Yiying.
  • Founders and investors tell users who's already backing a company. “For private companies, people still care about the investors, because that's a tag on the company, to see whether they're already recognized by the big names.”
  • News keeps the content side running. It's “mainly used for writing,” feeding Pre-IPO Review and Jarsy's social posts.
