Instead of a fintech separately negotiating with a sponsor bank, a card processor, a KYC vendor, and operations staff, platforms like Bond, Unit, Treasury Prime, Synctera, and Synapse package those pieces together, run the compliance workflow, and expose one set of APIs and dashboards so a brand can launch accounts, cards, and payments much faster.

  • The heavy lifting is literal. These platforms decide what identity data to collect, open the underlying FBO accounts, connect to Visa or Mastercard and issuer processors, and give both the fintech and the bank a portal to review KYC results, transactions, cases, and program rules.
  • This is why issuer processors and all-in-one BaaS are different products. A processor like Lithic handles the card plumbing, network messages, card manufacturing, and reporting. A BaaS platform adds the sponsor bank relationship, compliance program management, onboarding workflow, and account stack around that processor.
