That matters because these teams pay for workflows tied directly to conversion, retention, and collections.

Instead of waiting in a chat widget for a customer to ask for help, the agent watches behavior, like an unfinished signup or missing setup step, then starts the conversation itself. That is the same logic Intercom described as the next stage after reactive support, and it turns support software into an in product growth tool.
