Flex Elite turns Flex’s business banking foothold into a much cheaper wedge for winning the owner’s whole wallet. Once Flex already underwrites the company, sees card spend, receivables timing, and cash balances, selling a personal card and banking layer is mostly an in product upsell, not a new top of funnel motion. That is very different from mass market consumer neobanks, which must pay to attract each user one by one with broad marketing and incentives.

Gusto used payroll as the anchor to add benefits and compliance across its 500K plus SMB base, and Kapital layered lending, payments, treasury, and ERP tools onto business banking, because expansion into known customers is cheaper than starting from zero each time.

The next step is a tighter owner level operating system, where Flex becomes the place a business owner checks before moving cash, paying bills, or borrowing anywhere. If that bundle works, Flex can grow faster without matching consumer fintech marketing spend, and can push beyond business banking into the owner’s personal financial stack.
