RaaS turns Agility from a hardware vendor into an outsourced labor supplier. Instead of asking a warehouse to approve a $150,000 robot purchase, Agility can sell a monthly service that includes the Digit robot, Arc fleet software, maintenance, updates, and support, so the buyer compares the cost to a worker shift rather than to a capital project. That structure also lets Agility keep earning after installation and expand revenue as robot hours and fleet size grow.

  • The model is already showing up in live operations. GXO signed a multi year RaaS agreement in June 2024 to deploy Digit for tote moving and conveyor handoff, with Agility Arc managing the fleet. That matters because it ties revenue to ongoing usage in a production warehouse, not a one time pilot sale.
  • RaaS fits humanoids especially well because reliability is still improving. When Agility keeps ownership, it can push over the air skill updates through Arc, handle battery charging, swap in maintenance, and improve safety features over time. That makes customers more willing to adopt before humanoid performance is fully mature.

Across humanoid robotics, RaaS is emerging because customers want robots booked as operating expense alongside labor, while vendors want recurring software and service revenue. Agility still offers direct sales, but the hybrid model widens the market to smaller operators that cannot fund large upfront automation buys.

The next step is a shift from selling single Digit deployments to managing fleets that plug into the rest of the warehouse. As uptime improves, runtime extends, and Arc coordinates more robots and workflows, RaaS should make Agility look less like a machine maker and more like a recurring automation platform with deeper customer lock in.
