The product advantage is shifting away from the base model and toward whoever can turn a generic model into a reliable specialist. In practice that means collecting the right company docs, past work, contacts, and workflows, then wrapping them in a workflow where the AI is asked narrow, concrete jobs instead of open ended ones. That is why productivity apps are becoming knowledge systems and agent builders, not just chat boxes.

As models improve, the gap will increasingly come from who has the best embedded data, the cleanest workflow, and the clearest definition of what expert level output actually means in a specific job.
