The real threat is not that hyperscalers build one more ML feature, it is that they collapse the whole workflow into the cloud contract a customer already has. AWS SageMaker, Google Vertex AI, and Azure Machine Learning now bundle model building, deployment, monitoring, governance, and AutoML inside the same environment where data already lives, which makes a separate vendor harder to justify unless it is clearly better for regulated, hybrid, or low talent teams.
