How integral is Retool to Lithic's engineering culture and would it have an impact as a selling point for the company during an engineering interview?

Retool has empowered the people who are building cool things to make a front end for their service and do it themselves. 

Instead of building a service then shipping it over to another team to do some front end work and make it actually useful for the organization, it's very much a part of the project you are working on where you are responsible for doing that now, which is pretty cool. 

You have all the context and know the ins and outs of the service you've built, why not have it be you who makes the front end and puts it in the hands of your teammates?
