Inside Loom, a recorded explanation can turn into a bug report, a Confluence page, or structured action items, which means the real product is not the player window, it is the transcript, summary, steps, and tasks that flow into Jira, Confluence, and Rovo. Microsoft and Google mostly use video to improve meetings and playback inside their communication suites.

Loom already supports recording inside Jira and Confluence, and Loom AI can generate a short description, reproduction steps, a Confluence page, or a Jira task from the video. That makes a screen recording behave like raw material for execution systems, not a file that sits in a chat thread or drive folder.

Microsoft and Google tie recording to meetings. Teams uses recording, transcription, Stream, and Copilot to capture meeting points, while Google Meet creates notes and saves them to Docs and Drive. Those outputs mainly live next to the communication event, rather than natively inside issue tracking and documentation workflows.

This also separates Loom from tools like Vidyard. Vidyard is built for sales teams that want viewer analytics, CRM linkage, and pipeline attribution. Loom is strongest when a product manager, engineer, or support rep is explaining what happened on screen and needs that explanation turned into durable internal knowledge or follow up work.
Going forward, the biggest upside is that every recorded explanation becomes training data for Atlassian's work graph. As more videos are converted into pages, tickets, notes, and searchable context, Loom moves from a lightweight recording tool to a system for capturing how work actually gets done inside an organization.
