There are roughly 50,000 VC-funded companies and startups operating in the United States. Of these, roughly 10% are pre-seed and 55% are at seed stage, while another 35% have raised a Series A or later priced round.
Of those companies at Series A or beyond, here's how the distribution breaks down:
- Series A: 49.7% (8,533 companies)
- Series B: 27.0% (4,644 companies)
- Series C: 13.6% (2,331 companies)
