The problem with web search for private companies
If you research private companies with AI today, you mostly get SEO spam. Marketers create endless pages about companies—often without any real data—just to rank on search.
This problem is bleeding into AI workflows. When you ask an AI for company fundamentals like OpenAI revenue, Databricks valuation or Revolut gross margin, it goes to public search. But public search either doesn’t have the data—so you get empty summaries, outdated estimates etc—or you get outright made-up numbers.
AI models that lean on web search end up pulling from that garbage. Garbage in, garbage out.
That's why we built Sacra MCP.
Sacra MCP is an incredibly powerful way to synthesize the large quantities of data & research we have and instantly produce analyses that you can use across the work product you produce every day.
We already use this every day at Sacra to conduct research, write memos and programmatically generate experiences based on Sacra data via Claude Code.
What Sacra MCP can do
We built the Sacra connector for Claude based on model context protocol, which has been adopted by both Anthropic and OpenAI.
We made the decision to roll out Sacra MCP for Claude first, because its implementation is more mature. It's also available for use with Claude Code. We intend to roll out a Sacra connector for ChatGPT next.
The Sacra connector for Claude can do the following:
- get company profiles, datasets & research
- get news
- pull the contents of all reports paragraph by paragraph
- pull round by round funding data
- conduct search across all sacra documents
- ask for our company coverage in its entirety
This is only the beginning.
We intend to expose all data & research that we have via API and MCP to make it incredibly easy to work with Sacra data programmatically and with AI.
