Introducing Funding Rounds

We want Sacra to be the #1 place for fundamentals-oriented analysis on growth & pre-IPO companies. That's why we built Funding Rounds—to bring all of the important data points for understanding & evaluating companies into one place.

Our data revolves around price per share, because that's key for buying & selling secondary shares. We currently only include primary financing rounds.

We replicate the stock designations from the COI, e.g., Series C and Series C-1 for Anduril, and then group them into a colloquial round name, e.g., here, Series C. Because there are common conventions around naming but a lot of corner cases, we decided to take this more literal approach.

In recent years, funding data has become more widely available, proliferating beyond just your Pitchbooks and Crunchbases, but through to secondary marketplaces and secondary pricing & valuation data companies.

Due to the fragmented nature of the underlying source data, we've found that our platform customers occasionally have gaps in their data. That's why we've found that it's been additive for us to contribute more data to our partners, making it easier to transact in secondary in general.

Our approach is to make this data available on the web, in our tools and via our API—to make it as useful and widespread as possible. We're starting with issue price per share and we're intending to expand this out to include round by round valuation estimates and participating investors.

Just browse to any company's page, like Anduril, Perplexity and Anthropic, and scroll down to Funding Rounds. Then, you can click through on the footer to the latest COI that we have on file.

Also, you can go to the company page, click on the Filings tab and view all of the COIs that we have on our platform for that company. Access to the COI is for Pro members.

To chart price per share, go to Charts in your Workspace. If we have the price per share timeseries dataset for the company, it will show up when you type in the company name. Charts is for Standard members.

Finally, we have a funding round endpoint in our API. Just pass in the company domain and we'll return the round by round data. The API is for Platform customers—if you're interested in getting access, email us at founders@sacra.com.
