CloudWalk builds merchant operating layer

CloudWalk is trying to turn a payments app into the day to day operating layer for the smallest merchants. JIM does not just score fraud or tune checkout flows, it takes plain language instructions and changes prices, creates promotions, posts to Instagram, and generates financial summaries inside InfinitePay and in its standalone U.S. app. That pushes CloudWalk into workflow software, not just payment processing.1 2 3 4 5 6

  • Stripe and Adyen use AI mainly inside the payments engine. Stripe markets AI for checkout conversion, fraud reduction, retries, and authorization lift. Adyen markets Uplift for payment conversion, fraud, and cost optimization. Those tools improve transaction performance, but they do not act like a merchant facing business operator.3 4
  • Square is closer because it already bundles POS, commerce, CRM, and seller tools, and it has begun rolling out Square AI. But the evidence here shows CloudWalk going one step further, the merchant tells JIM what to do in plain language, and JIM executes directly against pricing, marketing, sales, and receivables workflows.2 5 6 7
  • This matters economically because software labor scales differently than support labor. CloudWalk says its internal agents Bela and Claudio Walker already handle merchant acquisition and support at very high volume, and JIM extends the same automation to merchants. If that behavior becomes habitual, CloudWalk can earn from payments and from the software actions wrapped around them.1 5 6

The next step is a tighter loop where the AI agent becomes the main interface and payments become one feature underneath it. If CloudWalk keeps teaching JIM to run more of a merchant’s daily work, the company can compete less on card fees alone and more on becoming the cheapest digital employee in the stack.1 2 5 6
