BrowserStack adds Figma accessibility toolkit

BrowserStack

Company Report
The Accessibility Design Toolkit — a Figma plugin that catches accessibility issues at the design stage, before a line of code is written — opens a further expansion vector into the design-stage market

This pushes BrowserStack upstream from testing code to shaping the design file that developers build from. Instead of waiting for QA or accessibility audits to catch bad contrast, missing alt text, weak focus order, or undersized touch targets after a feature is built, BrowserStack now sits inside Figma, where designers can scan frames, annotate fixes, and hand developers implementation guidance before engineering work starts.

  • The product is not just a checker. It scans multiple frames, suggests accessible color alternatives, generates reading order and ARIA annotations, and creates developer handoff notes. That makes it a workflow tool shared by design and engineering, not a one off compliance widget.
  • This expands BrowserStack beyond its core real device and browser testing base into the same earlier workflow territory where design systems are created. BrowserStack already connects to Figma through Percy for visual testing, so accessibility at design time gives it a second path into pre code review and approval flows.
  • The market pull is concrete. BrowserStack launched the toolkit in July 2025 and tied it to widespread WCAG failures on homepages, rising ADA lawsuit volume in 2024, and the European Accessibility Act. Accessibility fixes are cheaper in design because the team changes the mockup once instead of rewriting shipped UI in code.

The next step is for BrowserStack to turn accessibility into a continuous thread from design, to developer handoff, to automated testing in code, and then to production monitoring. If that works, BrowserStack becomes harder to replace because the company is no longer selling only test execution, it is helping enterprises define what acceptable software looks like before builds begin.
