The next phase of drone delivery will favor operators that plug into big retail or commerce rails instead of selling flights one route at a time. If Matternet wants a stronger position in consumer delivery, it will need the equivalent of a Walmart, DoorDash, or Amazon style demand layer that keeps drones flying all day in the same neighborhoods.
