This is really a question of whether Velaura becomes a software and IP company, or stays mostly a hardware company. The blockchain hardware business brings lower margin revenue because it involves manufacturing, inventory, and physical delivery. The AI platform points the other way, where the chiplet, compiler, runtime, and middleware help customers design or deploy systems with less power and heat, which usually means more of the value sits in design, software, and integration rather than box level assembly.

Velaura is positioning the AI side as silicon design and IP, including optimized GDS or chiplet deliverables for low power compute. That model can scale with less operational load than selling finished hardware, because each new customer does not require the same level of manufacturing and supply chain work.

The market comparison matters. SiMa.ai and Axelera already sell deployable systems, modules, cards, and dev kits, which means buyers can purchase a ready to use product today. Velaura is less a finished box vendor and more an enabling layer, which can produce better margins later, but only once platform revenue becomes a bigger share of sales.

The practical customer workflow explains the margin split. A hyperscaler using low power IP can fold it into its own silicon roadmap, while a robotics or industrial customer buying boards or hardware expects support, logistics, and deployment help. The first model is closer to licensing and engineering revenue, the second is closer to product revenue.
If Velaura can turn its Physical AI stack into the default software layer that makes its silicon easy to adopt, gross margins should move up as platform and IP revenue outgrows hardware. The long term upside is not just selling efficient chips, it is owning the layer that makes low power AI systems usable across cloud, edge, and robotics.
