The real risk is that infrastructure could capture the control point while General Intuition supplies only one interchangeable model on top. If Omniverse becomes the common scene format, simulation layer, and deployment workflow for robotics teams, then the company that owns that layer decides which models plug in, how data moves, and where developers spend time, which pushes model vendors toward feature competition instead of platform power.

NVIDIA is assembling the full middle layer, not just a model. Omniverse is described as the unifying software stack for physical AI, built on OpenUSD, and Cosmos sits inside it as the world model and data engine. That makes the workflow sticky at the simulation and data layer where teams actually build.

Early adopters already look like potential proof points for platform standardization. NVIDIA has publicly tied Cosmos and Omniverse to Figure, Skild AI, and other robotics developers, while Skild uses Omniverse libraries, Isaac Lab, and Cosmos for simulation and data augmentation. That is the pattern of a shared substrate forming under many model builders.

A close analogue is Applied Intuition, which moved up the stack from simulation into a broader physical AI platform. Its simulation and testing tools already reach 18 of the top 20 auto OEMs, and it partnered with Nvidia to add Cosmos for higher fidelity simulations. Once the workflow owner is entrenched, model providers sell into that stack instead of defining it.
The next phase of physical AI will likely reward whoever becomes the default build environment for synthetic data, world modeling, and robot evaluation. If that layer standardizes around Omniverse and Cosmos, General Intuition’s best path is to win on model performance inside that ecosystem, not by expecting the ecosystem itself to orbit its model.
