NVIDIA Cosmos as full stack threat

NVIDIA matters most here because it can bundle the model, the deployment layer, and the compute into one default robotics stack. Cosmos is not only a world model family, it also ships as open and commercializable model variants, self hosted NIM containers, post training tooling, and tight links into Omniverse simulation and Blackwell systems, which lets partners build workflows around NVIDIA end to end instead of buying a standalone API from a specialist.

NVIDIA has already turned Cosmos into an adoption funnel. Its official Cosmos materials and launch announcements show early users and partners including Figure AI and Skild AI, while the Cosmos site also lists Toyota Research Institute, which is how a model layer becomes infrastructure customers standardize around.

World Labs is threatening from the opposite direction. After acquiring SceniX on July 21, 2026, it is moving from turning images and video into explorable 3D scenes toward robotics, which gives it a stronger starting point in scene construction, simulation assets, and developer facing world building tools.

Meta pressures the category by shrinking the technical moat. V-JEPA 2 was trained on more than 1 million hours of video, and Meta says a post trained version can do zero shot robot planning with less than 62 hours of unlabeled robot video, which makes in house world model efforts more plausible for well funded teams.
The market is heading toward full physical AI stacks, not point models. The winners will be the companies that own simulation, post training, deployment, and hardware integration in one workflow. That favors NVIDIA today, pushes World Labs further into robotics, and forces specialists like General Intuition to win on application depth and system performance, not model novelty alone.
