Nvidia backs multiple GPU clouds
Crusoe
Nvidia wins most when AI demand is spread across many clouds instead of captured inside three hyperscalers. Every extra cloud partner gives Nvidia another route to sell chips, networking, and software, while also creating leverage against Amazon, Google, and Microsoft, which buy huge amounts of Nvidia hardware today but are also building their own in house AI chips. For Crusoe, that means Nvidia has reason to help multiple GPU clouds get big, not just one.1 2 3 4 5
- This already shows up in Nvidia's partner map. Nvidia lists Crusoe, CoreWeave, and Lambda among its cloud partners, and has highlighted all three as exemplar AI cloud builders. That is a distribution strategy. Nvidia is turning independent GPU clouds into extra sales channels for the full Nvidia stack.2 3 4
- The practical goal is to seed competitors to the hyperscalers. Microsoft signed large outside GPU cloud contracts even while selling its own cloud, and Nvidia has backed neoclouds that can absorb GPU supply fast and resell it through multi year contracts. That broadens Nvidia demand beyond AWS, Azure, and GCP.2 6 7
- Crusoe sits in the capital intensive end of that market. It builds power optimized GPU sites and signs large reserved capacity deals, more like CoreWeave than startup focused brokers like Fluidstack. That makes Crusoe valuable to Nvidia because it can take large GPU allocations and convert them into durable infrastructure revenue.5 6 8
Going forward, the strongest GPU clouds will look less like simple hardware renters and more like alternate AI infrastructure rails beside the hyperscalers. As long as Amazon, Google, and Microsoft keep pushing custom chips, Nvidia's incentive is to keep Crusoe, CoreWeave, Lambda, and similar partners large enough to matter.1 2 4 7
