Vanta Live System of Record

Diving deeper into

Vanta

Company Report
it is becoming a live system of record for proving trust to customers, partners, and auditors

Vanta is turning compliance evidence into a shared data layer that multiple buyers use every day, which makes the product stickier than a once a year audit tool. Instead of collecting screenshots for a PDF, companies connect Vanta to email, cloud, HR, and device systems so the same live control data can be shown in dashboards for internal teams, shared in Trust Reports for customers, and mapped into auditor workflows.1 2 3

  • The core shift is from record keeping to live monitoring. Vanta checks whether controls like MFA, encryption, and device settings are actually in place, flags gaps, and keeps a time series auditors can review, which gives one source of truth to the company and the audit firm.1 2
  • That broader system of record supports upsell. Vanta expanded from SOC 2 into GRC, vendor risk, questionnaire automation, Trust Center workflows, and AI governance, and ARR per customer rose from about $17K in July 2025 to about $19K by April 2026 as more teams used adjacent modules.2 3
  • Competitively, this is how Vanta separates from older GRC products and newer point tools. Older GRC platforms mostly track requirements like a browser spreadsheet, while Vanta automates evidence collection and sharing. Vanta also reached about $300M ARR by April 2026, versus Drata at about $98M ARR in January 2025.1 2 4

The next step is that proving trust becomes continuous and procurement driven, especially as AI governance joins security reviews in enterprise RFPs. If Vanta keeps owning the live evidence layer across customers, vendors, and auditors, it can move further from audit prep software toward the default operating system for security proof in mid market and enterprise software.2 3
