ComfyUI is strongest where the job looks like chaining models, not just generating one image. The likely split is between workflow authors and workflow consumers. OpenArt described ComfyUI as ideal for advanced users, while also using ComfyUI workflows in its backend. That points to a market where a smaller expert layer creates pipelines, and a larger layer uses simplified products that expose only a few knobs.
Going forward, ComfyUI wins by becoming the authoring layer for complex AI media pipelines, while easier apps and cloud products compete to own distribution. As image and video workflows get wrapped into templates, copilots, and push button apps, more of the market will consume ComfyUI indirectly rather than using its interface directly.
