GLG is rolling out AI-powered transcript synthesis and enhanced expert matching to compete on technology rather than headcount scale.

GLG is trying to turn its biggest legacy strength, a huge expert network and a trusted compliance process, into software that scales faster than adding more service staff. The shift matters because transcript summaries and better search make each call produce reusable output, while improved matching lets clients filter and compare experts directly instead of waiting on an associate to manually assemble a slate. That closes the gap with newer self service products without forcing GLG to abandon its high touch model.

  • GLG has already productized both pieces of the workflow. In June 2024 it launched AI generated summaries for completed expert conversations, and by April 2025 the redesigned myGLG portal added synthesis across one or multiple transcripts plus direct network search, filtering, and expert comparison.
  • This is the same pressure that pushed Tegus, Third Bridge, and AlphaSights toward libraries and answer tools. Tegus made transcripts the product, Third Bridge built Forum around a large archive, and AlphaSights moved into instant libraries and AI answers. GLG is meeting that threat by making its call workflow faster and more searchable.
  • The core bottleneck in traditional expert networks has been people scaling people. Former operators in the market describe incumbents as professional services businesses where client service headcount drives output. AI synthesis and better matching attack exactly that bottleneck by reducing manual reading, routing, and coordination work per project.

The next phase is a hybrid model where expert networks still win the most sensitive and high value calls through trust and compliance, but more of the discovery, transcript review, and repeat research gets handled in software. That favors firms like GLG that already have large supply, proprietary content, and enterprise relationships, if they can keep turning those assets into faster self serve workflows.
