Adapta as Neutral Work Layer

Diving deeper into

Adapta

Company Report
Both have expanded from chat toward agents and workflow automation, which narrows the surface area where a multi-model aggregator is necessary.

This shifts the battleground from access to models toward owning the daily work surface. When OpenAI and Anthropic sell not just chat, but shared workspaces, connectors, security controls, and agent features inside their own products, the simple pitch of one place to access many models gets weaker. A multi model layer still matters when it saves customers from model churn, but it has to add implementation, routing, and workflow value that the labs do not provide out of the box.

  • OpenAI Business already bundles a dedicated workspace, SAML SSO, no training on business data, and 60 plus app connectors. Anthropic Team includes SSO, spend controls, and enterprise search across Slack and Microsoft 365. That means the labs are moving closer to the same admin and workflow surface that an aggregator used to own.
  • Adapta is trying to move up a layer rather than stay a pure router. It says customers start with amplification, then build internal tools and CRMs, then automate workflows and agents. The product direction is to keep chat, systems, automations, and company context in one place, which is much harder for a model provider to replace with a single chat app.
  • This mirrors a broader pattern across AI software. Harvey shifted from a fine tuned legal model to multi model agentic workflows, and Perplexity is betting that orchestration heavy knowledge work can still favor a model agnostic architecture. The surviving neutral layer is not just model choice, it is the software that decides which model to use, when, and inside what workflow.

The next phase favors companies that turn model neutrality into a full operating layer for work. As frontier labs keep bundling chat, search, connectors, and agents, neutral platforms will win by owning setup, local workflows, and the actual handoff from prompt to business action, especially in markets and segments where customers need guidance as much as raw model access.
