This is why private execution alone is a weak wedge against the cloud giants. AWS, Azure, and Google already sell the core ingredients many enterprises actually buy, which are isolated compute, remote attestation, and tightly linked key management. If a bank or healthcare company mainly wants to keep data hidden while code runs, the hyperscaler can meet that need inside an existing cloud contract, without asking security teams to adopt a new trust model or Ethereum linked workflow.

  • AWS Nitro Enclaves lets customers run sensitive logic in an isolated enclave and gate KMS key access on enclave attestation. In practice, that covers common enterprise jobs like signing, decrypting, and handling regulated data, without any public chain component.
  • Google Confidential Space and Intel TDX give buyers a similar setup to EigenCloud's current base layer. The workload runs in a hardware isolated VM, and attestation proves the expected environment is live. For many procurement teams, that makes EigenCloud look less like a new infrastructure category and more like a packaged layer on top of cloud primitives.
  • The real gap only appears when a customer needs proof that outsiders can verify, or needs the result to plug into Ethereum apps and onchain settlement. Hyperscalers protect runtime privacy, but they do not natively turn a computation into a public, chain usable object with shared trust across counterparties.

The market is likely to split cleanly. Plain private compute will stay with the clouds, while systems that need neutral verification across companies, agents, and blockchains will pull toward cryptographic proof and chain connected execution. That pushes EigenCloud to win on verifiability and composability, not on confidentiality by itself.
