Standardize Amphora Portable Power

Diving deeper into

Chariot Defense

Company Report
Chariot can move faster in exercises and rapid acquisitions, but it must convert those deployments into standardized procurement before larger contractors reproduce or integrate similar functionality.

The real bottleneck is not proving Amphora works, it is getting portable battlefield power written into a repeatable budget line before primes absorb it into larger vehicle, command post, radar, or autonomy packages. Chariot is already fielding power systems for edge units and says Amphora is heading into production after user feedback in DIU Project G.I. Phase 3. But defense history shows fast prototype channels matter most when they convert into follow on production and standard procurement.

  • Chariot sells a concrete wedge, portable systems that store, convert, and distribute electricity for drones, sensors, comms gear, EW kits, edge compute, and even higher draw loads like air defense or additive manufacturing. That makes it useful in exercises because units can plug many new systems into one mobile power backbone.
  • The hard part is procurement math. Exercises and OTAs can buy prototypes quickly, but larger record programs usually shift into standard contracts and multiyear budgets. That favors incumbents with contracting teams, installed relationships, and existing slots inside bigger procurements, exactly where bundled power can become a feature instead of a standalone buy.
  • The comparable path is Anduril. It started as a fast moving nontraditional supplier, then used fixed products and self funded R&D to climb into larger production programs. Its growth to an estimated $1B revenue in 2024 and $2.2B in 2025 shows how much value accrues once a startup crosses from field tests into scaled procurement.

The next phase is less about another successful demo and more about becoming default infrastructure. If Chariot can get Amphora specified inside recurring unit equipment tables, sustainment plans, and follow on production awards, it can own the power layer for expeditionary systems. If that happens, primes become distribution partners or integrators rather than existential threats.
