Treebo is turning hotel software into a second route to market, which lets it make money from properties it does not need to brand, audit, or fill room by room. Hotel Superhero started as internal operating software and was later sold separately to independent hotels, first as an unbundled cloud system and more recently as a broader revenue management product that includes pricing, OTA distribution, reviews, and PMS workflows. That matters because it shifts part of Treebo from a franchise operator into a software supplier for the long tail of small hotels.

  • The product is not just a booking widget. Treebo positions it as the system hotel staff use to check guests in and out, record payments, manage rooms, connect to OTAs, and adjust pricing, which makes it closer to the hotel operating system OYO built for branded partners through OYO OS.
  • The SaaS model opens a much bigger customer pool than Treebo branded inventory alone. Treebo said in 2019 that more than 95% of hotels are small independents, and in 2024 it said the software already powered more than 750 of its own hotels before being sold broadly to outside properties.
  • This also changes the competitive shape of the market. OYO and RedDoorz mainly monetize by taking a cut of room revenue from standardized branded hotels, while Treebo can also sell software subscriptions and services to owners who want better occupancy and pricing without handing over the hotel name.

The next step is a fuller software led hotel stack, where Treebo can start with PMS and revenue tools, then pull owners toward distribution, managed services, and selective brand affiliation. If that works, the strongest budget hotel networks will look less like pure franchise chains and more like hotel software companies with branded demand on top.
