2026 made device intelligence much easier to buy as one feature inside a larger fraud or security stack. BioCatch added device risk to a banking behavior product, Arkose folded device ID into a platform that already blocks bots and phishing, and Cloudflare turned persistent client recognition and session monitoring into edge features that sit beside CDN, WAF, and bot tools. That raises the bar for a specialist API to win on measurable performance, not category novelty.

  • Castle shows what the closest specialist style rival looks like. It sells fingerprinting with email intelligence, rules, lists, risk scoring, and historical device analysis, so buyers can get both identification and decisioning from one integration instead of stitching together separate tools.
  • SHIELD competes from the mobile heavy end of the market. Its pitch is persistent device IDs, account and device graph analysis, and continuous monitoring backed by a network it says spans more than 7 billion devices, which is useful for ride hailing, fintech, and marketplaces where the same bad actor returns across accounts.
  • Cloudflare changes the economics most sharply because identification can ride inside infrastructure a customer already pays for. Ephemeral IDs tie activity to a client without cookies, Precursor watches behavior across the whole session, and Adaptive Intelligence feeds those signals into bot scores and security rules at the edge.

The market is moving toward bundled fraud stacks where identity, behavior, and enforcement run together in one control loop. That pushes Fingerprint toward the top end of the market, where customers will pay separately only if its accuracy, speed, and resistance to evasion are clearly better than the bundled default.
