Fingerprint is moving up the fraud stack from telling customers which device showed up to helping them decide what that visitor is trying to do. The product still sends signals into the customer’s own rules engine, but new bot, agent, tampering, and mobile integrity signals make the output closer to an intent layer. That is useful for first party fraud, account farming, and AI traffic, where the hard problem is not identity alone, but whether the session is trustworthy.

  • On the web side, Fingerprint now verifies AI agents through Web Bot Auth and returns provider, agent name, and verification status in bot_info. In practice that lets a customer allow a signed OpenAI style agent, while blocking a Playwright script or a spoofed crawler that looks agent like but cannot prove identity.
  • The anti detect and tampering layer matters because many fraud rings no longer hide behind obviously fake bots. They use real browsers with patched fingerprints, VPNs, emulator farms, or automation frameworks. Fingerprint’s bot detection, tampering flags, timezone mismatch, and mobile emulator checks give customers evidence that a session is engineered to evade controls, even when the user appears human.
  • This also sharpens Fingerprint’s place versus companies like Socure and BioCatch. Socure ties device context to a broader identity graph and consortium fraud data, while BioCatch studies how a person types, swipes, and navigates. Fingerprint stays modular and developer first, feeding cleaner device and automation signals into those larger decision systems instead of replacing them.

The next step is a split internet where every session is classified as trusted human, trusted agent, or hostile automation before checkout, signup, support, or content access even loads. If Fingerprint keeps owning that classification layer, it becomes more central to how modern apps route traffic, not just how they recognize returning devices.
