Beyond payload deployment, partners including Anduril, HEO, and Orbit Fab can use Mira for inspection, space-domain awareness, and servicing missions.

This turns Mira from a one time delivery vehicle into a reusable orbital work platform. The same bus that can drop off a payload can also carry cameras, autonomy software, or refueling hardware, then spend months maneuvering around other spacecraft. That matters because inspection, tracking, and servicing missions are higher frequency and higher value than simple deployment, and they make Impulse part of the operating layer of space, not just the transport layer.

  • Anduril is using Mira as the spacecraft layer under its defense payloads and autonomy stack. The partnership adds Lattice mission management, onboard processing, and infrared sensing, and the two companies have already expanded that work into a GEO rendezvous and proximity mission using Mira plus Helios.
  • HEO uses Mira differently. Instead of autonomous defense payloads, it mounts a non Earth imaging sensor on Mira to look outward at other satellites. That gives HEO coverage in higher LEO orbits and makes Mira a maneuverable perch for space domain awareness, where changing orbit improves what the camera can see.
  • Orbit Fab pushes Mira toward servicing economics. Mira is the host vehicle for a GEO hydrazine depot demonstration, with Orbit Fab supplying the refueling interface and depot hardware. If that works, Mira is not just carrying payloads, it is helping create gas stations in orbit that keep other satellites alive longer.

The next step is a fleet of specialized Mira missions, some carrying sensors, some carrying autonomy payloads, and some carrying fuel. As rendezvous, inspection, and refueling move from demos into routine operations, Mira can become the common chassis that lets defense and commercial partners deploy new orbital services without building a full spacecraft from scratch.
