The real advantage is distribution freedom, because contractors can add autonomy to the mixed fleet they already own instead of replacing excavators to match one vendor’s roadmap. That matters in earthmoving, where fleets are built machine by machine over years, often rented or bought used, and jobsite software has to work across Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, and others.
