Prolific is borrowing that playbook from the opposite direction, starting with a trusted participant graph and adding workflow, QA, and managed service layers on top.

The margin opportunity comes from specialization. The market has moved from cheap generalist labelers toward smaller pools of doctors, lawyers, scientists, multilingual raters, and culturally specific participants. Prolific already profiles participants on credentials, behaviors, languages, and traits, which lets it fill narrower, more valuable tasks than a generic crowd pool can.
