The real risk is not that Bedrock or Vertex make better images today, it is that they make image generation one more checkbox inside an existing cloud contract. Segmind sells a fast API and workflow layer for visual models, but AWS and Google can bundle model access, billing, security review, and deployment into the same console large companies already use for storage, identity, networking, and compliance, which makes vendor approval much easier.

Over time, the strongest independents will look less like raw inference vendors and more like application specific workflow platforms.
