Alchemy

Alchemy's 159-tool MCP surface and wallet-based agent authentication make it a default infrastructure option for that category.

Alchemy is trying to become the operating system for onchain agents, not just another node provider. The important shift is that an agent can both inspect blockchain state and take action from one MCP endpoint, across 100 plus networks, using a wallet based identity and payment flow instead of a developer manually wiring API keys, RPCs, and signing logic chain by chain.

  • The MCP surface is broad enough to cover the main read and write jobs an agent needs in practice, including balances, token prices, NFT ownership, transaction history, simulation, tracing, account abstraction, and Solana DAS. That matters because the default tool usually wins when developers want one connector that handles most requests without custom plumbing.
  • Wallet based agent authentication changes how access is packaged. Instead of provisioning and rotating API keys for each bot, the agent can authenticate with SIWE on EVM or SIWS on Solana, then pay for usage through x402 in USDC. That fits autonomous software better because identity, authorization, and payment all live in the same wallet flow.
  • This also strengthens Alchemy against other infrastructure vendors that are adding MCP later and more narrowly. QuickNode has launched MCP products, but its documentation emphasizes account administration and separate EVM tooling, while Alchemy is positioning one hosted MCP layer around both blockchain data access and execution across EVM and Solana, reinforced by its new Yellowstone compatible Solana gRPC and $20M Solana Fund.

The next step is a market where agents pick infrastructure the way developers once picked cloud APIs. If agent traffic keeps growing, the winners will be the providers that combine the widest tool coverage, the simplest auth and payment model, and reliable multi chain execution. Alchemy is building toward that control point now.
