This keeps the blast radius small while generating the labeled data needed for future autonomy.

Semgrep uses AI to suppress noisy findings and route engineers toward real issues, because reducing false positives is what makes automation usable in practice. The common pattern is assist first, then automate only where the model has repeatedly matched analyst judgment.

The company is less focused on data leakage or uptime in this use case because the agents run inside a controlled security environment. The bigger operational risk is decision quality, so the safeguards are test environments, prompt injection testing, permission limits, and full activity logs rather than broad infrastructure isolation alone.
The next step is a narrow band of closed loop remediation where the model can safely dispose of routine noise on its own. If these systems keep proving they can match human calls on duplicate alerts and benign findings, security teams will gradually hand over more of the repetitive queue, while reserving high consequence incident decisions for people.
