Cyera builds platform from DSPM

Each new module uses context generated by the prior one, raising switching costs and opening additional budget pools

Cyera is turning one hard data mapping job into several products, which is the cleanest way to grow inside large enterprises. Once Cyera has already discovered where sensitive data lives, how it is classified, and which people, apps, and agents can reach it, that same map can feed DLP, access monitoring, AI security, and recovery workflows. That makes each add on module faster to deploy, more accurate on day one, and harder to swap out without losing accumulated context.

  • The core economic move is budget expansion. Cyera started in DSPM, then added Omni DLP through the $162M Trail acquisition and later expanded into AI Guardian. That let one deployment reach security operations, compliance, and AI governance teams instead of staying inside a single discovery budget.
  • The switching cost comes from the classification graph itself. A customer does not just buy alerts, they build a living inventory of sensitive tables, files, identities, and permissions across cloud, SaaS, and hybrid systems. AI-SPM is explicitly built on that DSPM foundation, using the same data and identity context.
  • This is also how Cyera separates from adjacent vendors. BigID is the closest data discovery predecessor, while Veza is focused more narrowly on access visibility and OneTrust on privacy and compliance workflows. Cyera is bundling those adjacent needs around one operational data context, and recent growth has come from both new logos and account expansion.

The next step is for the shared context layer to become the control plane for enterprise AI and data protection. The June 2, 2026 Snowflake expansion shows the direction clearly. Discovery, classification, and identity mapping are being pushed directly into agent workflows, so future module growth should keep following the same pattern, one data graph, more enforcement points, more budgets.
