Arctic Wolf Expands Aurora Into Security Suite

Company Report
Together, these acquisitions underpin two of Aurora's newer product lines

These deals show Arctic Wolf is turning Aurora from an MDR service into a broader security suite that can sell more products into the same customer. Cylance and UpSight deepen endpoint protection by stopping malware and ransomware on the device itself, while Sevco adds the asset map that tells a security team which laptops, servers, cloud workloads, and controls they actually have, which is the raw input needed to prioritize exposure and package new modules on top of Aurora.1 2 3 4 6

  • Aurora Exposure Management is basically a cleanup and prioritization layer. Sevco finds assets across tools and environments, then Aurora ties those assets to vulnerabilities and missing controls so a team can see which exposed machine or cloud service matters most instead of sorting through scanner output line by line.2
  • Aurora Mobile Threat Defense extends Arctic Wolf onto employee phones, which were already adjacent to Cylance’s mobile capabilities. Arctic Wolf says the product watches device behavior, networks, apps, and phishing signals on iOS and Android, giving it a new endpoint to protect and another module to attach inside existing accounts.1 6 7 8
  • The commercial logic is cross sell. Arctic Wolf had about $438M of ARR in 2023, over 5,000 customers by 2024 research, and later reported more than 10,000 customers globally, so each new product line can ride an installed base and channel model instead of being sold as a standalone startup product from scratch.3 4

The next step is a tighter bundle where Aurora uses one asset graph, one endpoint agent set, and one SOC workflow across servers, laptops, phones, and cloud assets. That makes Arctic Wolf harder to displace, because replacing it would mean ripping out not just monitoring, but also prevention, exposure management, and mobile protection together.1 2 6
