Vercel Valued as AI Platform
Vercel
The jump to $9.3B shows that Vercel moved from being valued like a fast growing frontend hosting tool to being valued like a core AI application platform. In 16 months, the company went from a $3.25B Series E in May 2024 to a $9.3B Series F on September 30, 2025, while also running a roughly $300M tender offer at the same price, a sign that new investors were willing to buy both primary shares and employee stock at a much higher mark.1 2 3 4
- The re-rating was not just multiple expansion on old expectations. Revenue estimates rose from about $144M ARR at the end of 2024 to about $305M by the end of 2025, which means valuation grew roughly 2.9x while ARR a little more than doubled. That points to investors underwriting both growth and a stronger long term market position.2 3
- The share price tells the same story. Vercel’s Series E priced at $73.27 per share, versus $200.85 in the Series F and the parallel tender offer. That matters because it is the price sophisticated buyers actually agreed to pay for ownership, not just a headline valuation.2 3 4
- What changed in practice was the product surface. Vercel was no longer selling only deploy and hosting for Next.js apps. By the Series F, it was pitching the AI Cloud around Next.js, the AI SDK, and v0, which lets users describe an app in plain English and have Vercel generate and ship it on its own stack.1 2 5
Going forward, the key question is whether Vercel can keep turning its developer mindshare into default infrastructure for AI built apps. If that happens, the 2025 step up will look less like a spike and more like the moment investors started pricing Vercel as a platform that owns both app creation and app deployment.1 2 5
