tZERO shifts to chain-level monetization

The important change is that tZERO is no longer limited to making money only when investors trade on its venue. By adding tZERO Chain on top of its existing stack of issuance, transfer agency, custody, and ATS trading, it can charge for the rails underneath the market, including network transaction fees, compliance software, and data services that other issuers, broker dealers, and tokenization platforms can use even if they never trade directly on tZERO.

• tZERO already controls more of the workflow than a typical exchange. An issuer can create a tokenized security, run the offering, maintain the shareholder register, custody the asset, and support secondary trading inside one regulated system. The larger tokenization scale peer is Securitize, which has built a much bigger issuance and fund administration business. tZERO is positioning between them, with deeper vertical integration than Securitize in US secondary trading, and a broader investor product than Prometheum.

• The Zero Hash integration shows how this model expands recurring revenue beyond securities commissions. Customers can fund with stablecoins or crypto that convert into USD without tZERO taking crypto onto its own balance sheet. That reduces onboarding friction, keeps the regulated workflow intact, and creates a template for adding more payment, settlement, and multi asset infrastructure services over time.

From here, the market is moving toward infrastructure providers that own compliance, custody, and settlement, not just the trading screen. If tZERO can get third parties to issue and transact on tZERO Chain, revenue should look more like software and market plumbing, with steadier fees tied to every asset and every workflow running through the network.
