This launch turns Maven from a navigator into the company that actually runs the fertility benefit. Instead of mainly selling coaching, telehealth visits, and care coordination around someone else’s plan, Maven can now design the benefit, approve care, manage reimbursements through Maven Wallet, and steer members toward lower cost paths before IVF. That keeps the model asset light, but moves Maven closer to the part of the stack where more dollars and more control sit.1 2 3

  • The concrete change is administrative control. Maven added custom fertility benefit design and carve out administration in 2024, on top of its virtual care layer. That means employers can buy one package covering clinical guidance, member support, claims like reimbursements, and rules for what treatments get covered.3 1
  • This makes Maven look more like Progyny on the benefits side, but without owning clinics like Kindbody. Progyny already combines treatment design, clinic network management, authorization, member support, and pharmacy benefits at scale. Kindbody captures more of the care dollar by owning clinics, while Maven keeps its lighter marketplace structure.4 5 6
  • The payoff is higher revenue per member and stronger employer stickiness. Maven reached 17M to 17.5M covered lives in 2024, with estimated ARR of about $268M and average revenue per enrolled member of about $2.3K. Winning Amazon away from Progyny for 2025 shows that fuller administration can help Maven compete for large enterprise accounts.1 2

The next step is for Maven to use benefits administration as the base layer for a broader family health platform. If Maven keeps controlling the fertility workflow while extending into maternity, pediatrics, and menopause, it can bundle more products into one employer contract and become harder to replace than a point solution focused only on IVF episodes.2 1
