MOSAIC UXS creates mission-level lock-in
Quantum Systems
This shifts Quantum Systems from selling aircraft into owning the wiring diagram of the mission. Once a unit plans missions, routes data, and coordinates air and ground assets through MOSAIC UXS, replacing one drone vendor is easy but replacing the control layer means reworking operators, integrations, and workflows across the whole stack. That is the same economic move that made Anduril and Shield AI more than vehicle makers, because their software sits above mixed fleets and third party sensors.1 2 3 4 5 6
- MOSAIC UXS is positioned as mission control software, not just a drone app. Quantum Systems describes AI supported planning, real time evaluation, 3D mission representations, and command translation across autonomous systems, which means the product becomes the screen operators live in during missions.2 7 8
- The October 2025 MOSAIC Partner Days and partner program matter because ecosystem integrations compound lock in. Every sensor, AI module, or third party vehicle connected into MOSAIC adds another dependency that survives even if a customer changes airframes, similar to how open architectures like Lattice and Hivemind gain power by sitting above heterogeneous systems.1 3 4 5 9
- The revenue logic is also different from hardware. Quantum Systems still generated an estimated $330M in 2025 revenue mainly from systems sales, but software layers at peers have supported much larger businesses, with Anduril at an estimated $2.2B in 2025 revenue and Shield AI at $300M by March 2025 while both push platform level autonomy and C2 across third party platforms.1 4 5 6
The next step is for MOSAIC to become the procurement anchor and for the drones to become attach products around it. As European militaries move toward mixed fleets and modular architectures, the company that owns the common control layer can keep expanding into new vehicles, payloads, and software licenses without restarting the sales motion from zero.1 2 3 4 5 9
