In practice, the work starts with a concrete failure mode, like a model inventing customer IDs or using tools in the wrong order. AfterQuery then builds the data, environment, and verifier needed to teach and test that workflow, so pricing rises with task difficulty and the amount of expert judgment required.

That is different from seat based tooling from vendors that let a lab run labeling or RLHF operations itself. Those products monetize software access or usage. AfterQuery monetizes the hard part the customer cannot easily do alone, which is encoding expert behavior into reproducible training and evaluation systems.

The market is moving toward outcome oriented post training work, but AfterQuery is positioned at the deepest, most custom end of that spectrum.
Over time, the winning vendors in this layer will turn one off projects into reusable domain playbooks, rubrics, and environment templates. That is the path from lumpy services revenue to a more repeatable product business, and it is where AfterQuery can expand margins while staying tied to the highest value capability bottlenecks in enterprise and frontier lab workflows.
