Obie is no longer just a fast digital landlord insurer, it now sits inside a much larger insurance machine that can help it chase bigger habitational accounts. Baldwin bought Obie on January 13, 2026 and tied it more tightly to a national brokerage, an MGA called MSI, and wider underwriting capacity. That matters because moving from small landlord policies to larger condo and multifamily programs depends as much on distribution, carrier access, and servicing muscle as on a slick online quote flow.
