Scimplify shifts to regional production

Scimplify

Company Report
Local production would let it pursue customers needing regional supply and closer technical support, beyond the export business it already serves from India.

This is really a move upmarket, not just a move overseas. Selling specialty chemicals from India works when buyers mainly need price and acceptable lead times, but local production in the U.S. and Japan matters when the customer is qualifying a material into a factory line and wants faster sample turns, on site troubleshooting, and a second source in the same region. That is especially important in electronics, energy, and defense, where Scimplify is growing fastest.1 2 3 4

  • Scimplify already has meaningful demand outside India. It estimated $200M in annualized revenue in October 2026, with the U.S. at about $60M, more than half of revenue coming from outside India, and roughly 90% of production still based in India. Local manufacturing is the obvious next step to close that mismatch.1 2
  • In practice, closer technical support means helping a customer move from lab recipe to approved production material. Scimplify develops the process in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, transfers it into partner plants, and manages quality and documentation. Doing some of that work near the customer should make qualification and repeat orders easier, especially for high purity materials.2 4 5
  • The comparable pattern in advanced materials is to build supply close to strategic customers. BASF built an electronics materials hub in Korea that combined R&D, production, and technical support for chip customers, and other materials companies like Redwood and Sila are also built around domestic manufacturing footprints rather than export only supply.5 6 7

Over the next year, the company’s network will likely become more regional, with India staying the main production base while the U.S. and Japan handle more qualification sensitive and supply critical programs. If that works, Scimplify shifts from being an Indian export supplier to being a distributed materials platform that can win larger, stickier accounts in strategic industries.1 2 3 4
