AppsFlyer Challenges Branch's Deep Linking

Diving deeper into

Branch

Company Report
AppsFlyer is Branch's closest direct competitor, with scale across 15,000+ businesses and 100,000+ active apps and a product strategy that now sells deep linking as a standalone capability, directly targeting Branch's strongest wedge.

This is a fight over who owns the handoff between an ad click and an in app action. Branch built its edge by making links do real work, sending a user from a web page, ad, email, or QR code into the right screen inside an app while keeping campaign context intact. AppsFlyer now offers that same deep linking motion as a standalone product, while also bundling attribution, fraud tools, and broader measurement into the same sales motion, which makes Branch’s original entry point easier to copy at enterprise scale.

  • Branch tends to win when the painful problem is conversion friction. A retailer or fintech app cares that a tapped link opens the exact signup or checkout screen, not the home page. AppsFlyer historically led from measurement, but its OneLink suite now sells that routing layer directly, even without the full attribution product.
  • AppsFlyer also has more room to spread R&D and sales cost. Internal estimates put it at $395M ARR in 2023, with about 12,000 paying customers and more than 80,000 apps on platform. In June 2026 it added more than $1B of financing from Moloco, Google, Meta, and Unity, which strengthens distribution and product investment at the exact moment deep linking is becoming table stakes.
  • The deeper risk for Branch is pricing power. Once deep linking is bundled by AppsFlyer, Adjust, Singular, and Kochava, buyers can treat links as a feature inside a broader measurement suite instead of a product category. That pushes Branch to sell higher order workflow products like omnichannel routing, compliance, and discovery rather than links alone.

The market is moving toward bundled measurement stacks where linking, attribution, fraud detection, and web to app analysis are bought together. Branch’s path forward is to make its link layer the control point for more journeys across web, app, email, and paid media, so customers pay for better conversion outcomes, not just for the link itself.
