Native Search Becomes Default Grounding

Bundling turns search from a product decision into a default setting inside a bigger AI contract. That is a different need from bundled native search, which is optimized for grounding answers inside a model workflow, not returning a large, clean result set for downstream systems.

This pushes the market toward two layers. Model platforms will absorb the default grounding use case, while independent providers win where customers need raw retrieval, custom ranking, domain controls, or prebuilt agent frameworks that get chosen before central IT standardizes on a cloud stack. The companies that survive will be the ones that become part of the workflow before search becomes a procurement checkbox.
