Gladia shifts transcription into cloud procurement
Gladia
The key shift is from feature buying to framework buying. A ministry, hospital group, or large bank often does not run a standalone search for the best speech API. It runs a larger procurement for hosting, data location, security controls, support, and approved vendors. By putting Gladia inside OVHcloud and OVHai, voice transcription can ride along with a broader European cloud contract instead of fighting vendor by vendor for each developer integration.1 2 3 4
- OVH said Gladia’s speech to text building blocks will be offered through OVHcloud and OVHai after the July 31, 2026 close. That matters because the product is no longer just an API endpoint, it can be sold by the same team already pitching compute, storage, and sovereign cloud to public sector and enterprise buyers.1 2
- OVH is already selling into sovereignty driven contracts. In June 2026 it highlighted selection by the European Commission to provide a sovereign cloud for EU institutions, and in September 2026 it announced SecNumCloud qualification for its SNC Cloud Platform. Those credentials are often the hard part of getting into regulated deals, not the transcription model itself.2 3 5
- This is a different route to market from independent speech vendors like AssemblyAI. AssemblyAI is still sold mainly as developer infrastructure, where an engineering team chooses an API for accuracy, latency, and price. Gladia can now win when the buyer starts with approved infrastructure and only then adds voice features inside that stack.4 6
The next step is bundle formation. If OVH keeps turning acquired AI pieces into packaged offers for regulated customers, Gladia can move from a line item in a prototype budget to a standard capability inside European cloud and AI contracts. That would make procurement fit and deployment fit as important as raw transcription quality.1 2 3 7
