This is really a distribution claim, not just a product claim. Tesla is building a robot for Tesla factories, while Agile is packaging the same core building blocks, robot arms, mobile carts, fleet software, and line integration, into something BMW, Foxconn, and other manufacturers can buy off the shelf instead of inventing themselves. The result is a contract that can start with one task and expand into the full movement of parts, machines, and workers across a plant.

  • The unbundling happened through acquisitions. Idealworks added AnyFleet software and iw.hub mobile robots from BMW in October 2023. Krause Automation, acquired from thyssenkrupp in April 2026, added full production line engineering. That turned Agile from an arm vendor into a company that can automate the path between stations and the stations themselves.
  • The BMW relationship shows how this works in practice. More than 850 iw.hub robots operate across BMW production sites, moving materials through mixed traffic factory floors, while AnyFleet manages the fleet. That is much closer to selling an internal factory operating layer than selling a single robot body.
  • This is a different market position from warehouse robot specialists like Locus. Locus sells picker assist robots into fulfillment centers and reached $180M ARR by June 2026. Agile is aiming at higher value factory programs that combine arms, AMRs, and systems integration, which helps explain faster revenue growth to $339M in 2025 and guidance of roughly $690M in 2026.

The next step is to use this installed factory stack as the launchpad for humanoids. If Agile can plug Agile ONE and Gemini powered control into plants where it already manages arms, carts, and line automation, it can sell humanoids as one more module inside an existing factory system, not as a standalone science project.
