ShipBob targets midmarket with Plus and Capital
ShipBob
The big shift is that ShipBob is no longer just selling outsourced pick, pack, and ship for small online brands, it is building a ladder that keeps merchants as they grow into larger and more complex operations. ShipBob Plus adds enterprise style services like custom integrations, supply chain planning, and priority fulfillment, while ShipBob Capital lets merchants borrow against the same operating data they already run through ShipBob, turning fulfillment from a one line service into a broader operating system for commerce.1 2 3 4 5
- ShipBob started with SMB pain, helping merchants avoid packing orders from apartments and spare bedrooms, then monetized more of the workflow through receiving, storage, pick and pack, and shipping fees across a warehouse network that reached 50 plus fulfillment centers by June 2024. Moving upmarket means selling into brands that need more planning, more integrations, and tighter service levels, not just cheaper label creation.2 5 6
- ShipBob Plus is the concrete upmarket product. It is positioned for mid market and enterprise brands, with tailored supply chain planning, retailer and tech integrations, priority support, and a high touch operating model. That changes the buyer from a founder looking for relief on daily shipping to an operations team that wants a 3PL that can plug into EDI, forecasting, and retail workflows.1 4
- ShipBob Capital pushes into embedded fintech. The merchant applies inside ShipBob, can get instant approval for up to $250K, and larger lines in the millions within days through Slope. That matters because inventory and shipping are cash hungry. A fulfillment partner that can also finance inventory becomes harder to replace, and captures revenue beyond warehousing labor and postage.3 7 8
From here, the logical path is deeper bundling around larger merchants with more channels, more international complexity, and bigger inventory needs. If ShipBob can keep combining fulfillment, planning, integrations, and credit inside one workflow, it moves closer to being the non Amazon commerce back end for brands that have outgrown starter tools but do not want to build an in house logistics stack.1 3 4 5
